About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my work as a physician at Kaiser Permanente.

Biography

I was born in Los Angeles. As a child, I always wanted to be a doctor. I completed my undergraduate education at UCLA. I then went to Boston for medical school at Tufts University. I returned to Southern California for my surgical training at Harbor–UCLA Medical Center. I truly became part of the Kaiser Permanente South Bay family during my residency here. I’m a general surgeon and have practiced for more than 20 years at Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center. I feel fortunate to be able to work at Kaiser Permanente and to be part of a health care system that makes me proud.

About my practice

I've always enjoyed complex surgery. I helped develop the bariatric (weight loss) program for Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center. My work philosophy—do the right thing for the patient— follows that of my mentor Dr. Robert Nejdl. He taught me to be compassionate and humble, and he always pushed me to keep up with new technology.

How I thrive

I enjoy sport fishing, SCUBA diving, skiing, and spending time with my family.
