About Me
With several physicians in my family I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in children's medicine. I am a Denver native and graduated from Duke University in Durham, NC. I returned to Colorado to attend medical school at the University of Colorado in Denver and completed my pediatric residency, as well as a chief residency, at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, The Children's Hospital. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente I practiced at Littleton Pediatrics and was a member of the faculty at Duke University. I am board certified in pediatrics, serve in a physician recruiting role for the Kaiser Permanente Pediatrics Department and was a primary investigator for the Kaiser Permanente Pediatric Vaccine Study Center. I also help staff a volunteer pediatric clinic at Samaritan House shelter. I am the proud (and sometimes tired!) mother of five, and have been happily married for 23 years.
About my practice
My practice is open and interactive. I encourage families to trust their instincts and share their thoughts with me. Over the years as a doctor and a mom I have learned that rarely is there only one way to do something and I really try to let families adapt to what works for them. I base my decision making process on evidence we have learned from extensive studies and I try to share this information with members about their care. I care for all medical conditions of childhood from birth to adolescence and use consultants as needed. It is very important to me that my families feel well cared for and comfortable.
How I thrive
In my spare time I tend to drive to my children's many sports practices! In addition, I love to garden, read, sew and cook. I have to admit I truly dislike working out, but I do it anyway at least three or four days per week. I get recharged from spending quality time with my family and friends.
