About Me
I was born in Japan and moved to Southern California before the age of 1. The plan was to move back to Japan after a few years, but my father chose to stay, and I am so glad that he did.
Biography
Luckily, I did not have to leave sunny Southern California for my undergrad education and optometry school. I chose to practice optometry because ever since I was a child, I have had very positive experiences as a patient, and I still think it is amazing that in a single visit, a person's life can be changed by having his or her vision corrected by glasses or contact lenses.
About my practice
I believe in Kaiser Permanente's team approach to take care of members. My department works closely with the Ophthalmology and Optical Departments to make sure each member's needs are met. I like to help with assessing each member's visual needs for work, school, and for various hobbies. I also think that it is important to focus on patient education so that eye conditions are understood and that members know what to do and what to expect in the future.
How I thrive
A balanced lifestyle is something that I continuously strive for. Mental and physical health is something I do not want to take for granted. I relax by spending time with my dog, watching a good TV show, or by going shopping. I try to keep a healthy lifestyle by going to Pilates weekly and biking or hiking whenever I can. During my free time, one of my favorite things to do is to try various restaurants with my friends and family. Sometimes all you need is some good company and good food to recharge and reset your mind!
