About Me
I am a native Oregonian, born and raised in the beautiful Rogue Valley. I grew up hiking, camping and skiing with my two brothers. I have lived in many places since then and am very happy to have settled in the Northwest to raise my family. During my undergraduate training at University of Oregon, I worked at an eye clinic and grew to love the field of Optometry. I decided at that time that I wanted to be an Optometrist and it has proven to be a very rewarding career. I get to help members with their visual needs and provide recommendations for life long eye health.
About my practice
I completed a primary care residency at San Francisco VA. During this program I was taught the importance of treating the eyes as an extension of the whole body. Every system in the body has an effect on the function of your eyes and ultimately your vision. Kaiser Permanente is a wonderful place to work for that reason, doctors from all specialties work together to provide complete care for each member. I enjoy educating my members about their vision and strive to answer every question and concern as thoroughly as possible. In addition to providing prescriptions for glasses and contacts, I also diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions including dry eye, diabetic eye problems, glaucoma and macular degeneration.
How I thrive
I enjoy spending quality time with my family. My husband and I take our two young children to the farmers market and festivals on the weekends. We relax by getting away to the Oregon coast. I make a priority to exercise 30 minutes every day by running, biking, hiking, doing yoga or chasing my children around the park.
