About Me
Becoming a physician and making a difference was my childhood dream, which came true with the continuous, unconditional and untiring support of my family and their unwavering and tremendous confidence in me. My parents have been my greatest teachers and have always stressed the importance of higher education. I was born and raised in Punjab, India, and I graduated from Amritsar Medical School. I moved to the U.S. in the late 1980s, where I continued my medical education. Later, I became motivated by the holistic approach and received another degree as a doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO). I have lived in many cities across the U.S., and I have been in Atlanta since 2006. I joined Kaiser Permanente in February 2016.
About my practice
Being a MD and DO allows me to integrate the two models of care and treat our members in a holistic way, providing physical, mental and spiritual healing, as well as trying to make a difference in the lives of my patients. My motto is to provide a high-quality care experience by touching the lives of our members and making a difference in their health. My focus is on prevention and education, while treating all chronic conditions like hypertension, diabetes, asthma, high cholesterol and chest pains, as well as the common cold and a large spectrum of diseases. I believe that "knowledge is power" and empowering our members with the right information helps them manage their conditions and make informed medical decisions.
How I thrive
I thrive by balancing my work and home life. I gain strength and energy from my family and from meditation. I find enjoyment in meditation, quiet times, introspection and reading uplifting and spiritual books. I like walking and being surrounded by nature, but most of all, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also involve myself with different volunteer projects that benefit our community.
