About Me
I am Dr. Diane Connelly, an obstetrician/ gynecologist here at Kaiser Permanente’s Riverside Medical Center. I hope to make you feel more comfortable with your upcoming appointment by sharing some information about my background, training, and care philosophy.
Biography
I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia. I have lived in Southern California since 1992, when I came to attend medical school at Loma Linda University. My father and sister are family practice physicians, and it was their examples that encouraged me to choose medicine as a career. During medical school, I had the opportunity to train for a master’s degree in public health. My emphasis was in health promotion and education, and I worked on several projects regarding women’s health. While in training, I realized I loved obstetrics and women’s health care. Thus, I chose to pursue a residency in ob-gyn. Initially, I worked in private practice in San Bernardino for almost six years prior to joining Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
I consider myself a partner in my patients’ health. Prevention and lifestyle are extremely important, so I try to teach my patients about what they can do to prevent illness and improve their overall health. I also feel it is important to listen to them, to learn about their goals and concerns, and then to discuss treatment options. I appreciate all the preventive services and health education available at Kaiser Permanente, and I encourage my patients to utilize these resources.
How I thrive
Achieving balance and a healthy lifestyle is challenging for everyone. I enjoy spending time with my family, walking, biking, skiing, and water sports. I encourage my patients (and myself) to be active and to do things that are enjoyable.
