About Me

Hello, and thank you for visiting my Web page. I'm happy to share some information about myself and my career as a perinatologist (a physician who cares for women with high-risk pregnancies) in order for you to get to know me better. I know being referred to a specialist can be intimidating, but I strive to ease any concerns and walk you systematically through your pregnancy week by week.

Biography

I am originally from Michigan and completed my undergraduate education and medical school at the University of Michigan. I then moved to Durham, North Carolina, for residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Duke University. My fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine (perinatology) at UCSD brought me to San Diego where I have been ever since. I'm thrilled and grateful to call sunny Southern California my home!

About my practice

I am a subspecialist trained in managing high-risk pregnancies. I primarily care for women with medical problems who become pregnant, or patients carrying a baby with a health problem or abnormality. Our practice uses a multidisciplinary approach, meaning I work closely with other physician specialists (cardiologists, endocrinologists, neurosurgeons, and others), nurses, midwives, genetic counselors, and sonographers to provide the most comprehensive care relative to your condition. It is very satisfying to work with a team to coordinate a personalized approach for my patients.

How I thrive

Keeping balance in my life is extremely important to my own well-being. I do this by spending quality time with my husband, son, family, and friends. We love shopping at the farmers markets in town, hiking, and vacationing together. I enjoy cooking healthy meals, running, Pilates, and relaxing at the beach on weekends.
