About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. Thank you for your interest in my practice.

Biography

I was attracted to medicine by the intellectual challenges as well as opportunity to help those in need. I have had extensive experience with Kaiser Permanente not just as a physician, but also as a patient during my childhood. My parents had health coverage from Kaiser Permanente, and they and I were very happy with the service and professionalism of the organization from early on. When I decided to pursue a career in medicine, eventually specializing in cardiology, I knew that I wanted to be part of this organization. I have been in practice at our Baldwin Park Medical Center since 2000. I feel fortunate to have lived in beautiful Southern California nearly all my life and to have grown up in the San Fernando Valley. There is sometimes confusion about my last name, as I am of Asian (Filipino) descent. However, I am fortunate to have had language training in Spanish, and feel privileged to be able to also serve our Spanish-speaking members.

About my practice

My cardiology practice at the Baldwin Park Medical Center is a mix of both inpatient (hospital) and outpatient (clinic) services. When I am not covering the hospital, I spend my time in the clinic seeing patients, performing cardiac catheterizations (heart angiograms) at the Los Angeles Medical Center, and reviewing cardiology studies. I or my nurse will try our best to get back to you when you contact our office. We are fortunate to have a completely integrated electronic health record, so whenever I see you or interact with you via phone or through our secure Web site, I will always have the most up to date information on your test results and other physicians visits, even if you use different Kaiser Permanente offices in Southern California.

How I thrive

Being able to enjoy other activities outside of medicine gives balance to my life. I enjoy gardening, reading, and the performing arts. I also feel that physical health is just as important as mental health, and I make it a point to swim every day for 30 minutes. Lastly I greatly enjoy travel throughout the world—such trips makes one realize how fortunate we are to live in the United States, but also helps us appreciate the diversity of cultures throughout the world and broaden our perspectives.
