About Me

I grew up in Wheat Ridge, Colo. While in junior high school, I became interested in the health care profession. I obtained my bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Colorado. I obtained extensive experience caring for emergency and trauma patients, adult and pediatric. After 11 years, I returned to school and obtained my master's degree and nurse practitioner certification from the University of Colorado. While in school, I had the opportunity to participate in clinical research as well as explore several alternative healing practices. I have worked for Kaiser Permanente Colorado since I became a nurse practitioner. I’m married and have two grown children.

About my practice

As a family nurse practitioner, I’m comfortable caring for persons of all ages. I practice in the orthopedic department and I primarily specialize in complaints involving the hand. However, I’m proficient in managing most orthopedic problems. I particularly enjoy caring for our members in the hospital setting and I believe in treating each person as an individual and I work with our members to create a treatment plan that is right for them. I have had personal experience in how orthopedic issues can impact your life and I believe this helps me better understand our member's situations.

How I thrive

I love playing coed ice hockey and it is particularly enjoyable because my son and several of my co-workers play on my team. My husband is our number one fan. I also enjoy horseback riding, hiking, camping, fishing and target shooting. I have two horses, a cat and three dogs. One of my dogs is a 140 pound Newfoundland. All of those keep me busy and help me thrive.
