About Me

I was born in Colombia and moved to the U.S. at 3 years old. I grew up in Miami, Florida. I attended the University of Florida School of Medicine where I met my wife. We then moved to Baltimore, Maryland, to complete our training. After returning to Florida for a few years where I had a busy internal medicine primary care practice, we decided we wanted a change. We now have two kids and are happy to be raising them in Colorado.

About my practice

I chose to practice internal medicine for two reasons. I strongly believe in preventive care. Detecting problems early or preventing them before they happen is hugely impactful in promoting our patients’ quality of life. However, I also realize that not all disease is preventable and many of us will experience health problems. When that happens, a strong primary care provider is important. We can intervene on problems or serve as coordinators and educators to help guide patients through the health care system. I approach each patient with a sense of curiosity to learn about them as much as I can. This helps me understand them, which in turn helps me take better care of them.

How I thrive

I love spending time with my wife and two kids. I also find exercise to be incredibly helpful both physically and mentally. I particularly enjoy cycling and running, and I have competed in many middle distance triathlons.
