About Me

I grew up in the Southeast. I moved to Colorado after medical school to enjoy a different part of the country and it turns out that my skin is better suited for winter sports! I am still stunned by the beauty of the mountains right outside our windows, and the weather is hard to beat. The thing I enjoy most about being a doctor is that no two days are the same. I love meeting my patients and getting to know them as people. I had major surgery as a young adolescent and the excellent and compassionate care I received largely inspired me to go into medicine.

About my practice

I am board certified in dermatology and pediatric dermatology. During my initial residency in pediatrics I fell in love with rashes and skin disease. The year between my pediatric and dermatology residencies, I had the privilege of working full-time for Kaiser Permanente as a pediatrician. That year gave me excellent experience as a clinician and showed me the fully integrated care system that Kaiser Permanente has to offer. It is a great way to care for patients and give them high-quality care. I finished my dermatology training and did another fellowship year in pediatric dermatology with a special focus on surgery and laser treatments for vascular birthmarks. It is important to me to get to know my patients, and to work with you to make shared decisions for your best care. I will try my best to be honest and direct, give thought and care to your condition, be thorough, diagnose your skin issue correctly, and give the best care I can provide. I am talkative, but have a direct communication style. As my patient you will be in touch with me, my staff and my colleagues at times regarding your care. I work part-time and have great confidence in my colleagues to care for my patients when I am not available.

How I thrive

Eating great homemade food with my family and close friends is one of my favorite things to do. My faith is also very important to me. Being a part of a faith community is one of the central ways that I thrive in my life. I like to read nonfiction books, especially about behavioral economics and social sciences. I am thankful for Colorado’s beauty, especially in the spring and fall.
