Need to cancel an appointment?

The information on this page applies to Georgia members only.

Our physicians and staff work very hard to meet the needs of our valued members. To help ensure you and all our members have access to the care you need, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment if you do need to reschedule or make a cancellation so we can offer that appointment time to another member who may need medical care.

If you are not able to keep your scheduled appointment time at one of our Kaiser Permanente facilities and do not give us 24-hour notice, you will be charged a $25 missed appointment fee by your physician's office.

Exceptions include:

  • Any appointment made less than 24 hours ahead of the scheduled appointment time. However, you must call to cancel or reschedule this appointment in order to not incur the fee.
  • If you have an inpatient stay at a hospital on the day of your visit.
  • If you are being seen in the emergency department on the day of your visit.
  • Any telephone or "group" visits.
  • Visits scheduled outside of a Kaiser Permanente facility. If you can't keep an appointment with an affiliated community physician or referral specialist, call your practitioner's office directly. They may have their own appointment cancellation policy.

Canceling an appointment is easy. Simply sign on to kp.org, use the Kaiser Permanente mobile app, or call our Health Line at 404-365-0966 (local) or 1-800-611-1811 (long distance).

Our goal is to help make sure you have access to the medical care you need. We attempt to make a courtesy confirmation by phone or mail prior to your scheduled visit to remind you of your appointment time. It is important that you make every effort to get the care your doctor recommends, so if you must miss an appointment, please be sure to reschedule as soon as possible so you receive the necessary medical care.
