Acerca de mí
I grew up in New York City. I always knew I would be a physician, and as the eldest of seven, pediatrics was an obvious choice. Rotating through various specialties in medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York confirmed my decision to pursue pediatrics. I loved the children’s resiliency, courage and humor, as well as their families and the medical practice. My residency in Oakland, Calif. was a tremendous learning experience and also afforded me the opportunity to explore the West Coast.A pediatric infectious disease fellowship at Emory University brought us to Atlanta in 1989. I have spent most of my career working as a pediatrician in the Atlanta area, and in one of my practice experiences, the significant focus was the care of refugee and immigrant children. The medicine was fascinating, but equally rewarding was the unique opportunity I had to care for children and families from many diverse backgrounds and cultures. I enjoy teaching and over the years have been involved with teaching medical students, residents, nurses and nurse practitioners.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2008 and work as a general pediatrician at the Panola Medical Center. I am fortunate to have excellent colleagues and staff that are committed to providing high-quality care for your children. I enjoy all aspects of primary care, but my special areas of interest include pediatric infectious diseases, travel medicine, care of the internationally adopted children and providing medical care and nutritional counseling to overweight children.I believe that optimal care is provided when the physician, patient and family establish a partnership to make decisions together. At each visit, I dedicate a significant amount of time providing patient and family education and anticipatory guidance.

Achieving balance between my personal and professional life has been one of my greatest rewards. For me, this has meant working part time for most of my career, allowing me to devote time to my practice as well as my family. I have two teenage children who have taught me an immense amount of pediatrics. As my children have gotten older, I have devoted more time to my practice.I take care of myself by exercising regularly and eating well. I love to cook and try to prepare healthy meals for my family nightly. I enjoy reading, going to movies, skiing and traveling with my family.
