Acerca de mí
I grew up in Philadelphia. After graduation from Carnegie-Mellon University with a degree in chemical engineering, I worked several years as an engineer. While I enjoyed and developed great problem solving skills in that field, I had a desire to use my skills solving problems dealing with people on a personal level. I was fortunate enough to realize my dream of a second career in practicing medicine. I spent seven years working at an academic center in Philadelphia in the Ophthalmology Department caring for mostly glaucoma patients. I truly enjoy practicing ophthalmology and helping people retain the gift of sight. I am equally thrilled to have the opportunity to practice at Kaiser Permanente and take care of its many members.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I am a member of the Ophthalmology Department at Kaiser Permanente. While my specific area is glaucoma, I also manage and treat general ophthalmologic disorders and provide glaucoma and cataract surgery. My philosophy about treating patients is that we are a team. I like to present our members with the facts about their particular ocular issue, and together, we can decide on a plan. In my specific area of glaucoma, I often see my patients several times a year, and overtime, we often develop a bond. This is the aspect of my career that I enjoy most.
Cómo vivo bien
I thrive by staying fit physically, spiritually and mentally. I start most mornings off working out at the gym. I try to work out at least five times a week. I stay spiritually fit by staying involved with my church. Spending time reading helps me stay mentally fit. I like to spend my free time with my family, which includes my husband and son. We all try to stay active. I very much enjoy traveling to various destinations, as well.
