Acerca de mí
Life has taught me to be flexible and to appreciate diversity. I have lived in Colorado, Michigan, Tennessee and Louisiana. Growing up biracial has given me a unique perspective on life. I am not burdened with the need to be around others like me because that has never been my experience. Instead, I enjoy getting to know people with different views and life experiences. Maybe this why my favorite ride a Disney World is "It's a Small World."
Though I love my family, I hate snow. This prompted my move to Atlanta from Colorado where most my family is located. I truly enjoy all the things that living in a metropolitan city has to offer. I love going to concerts and plays. Now that I have access to the busiest airport in the world, I plan on traveling much more. I spend most of my time loving on Lou Lou, my Chorkie (Chihuahua and Yorkie), crafting and spending time with friends.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I knew in the seventh grade that I wanted to deliver babies when I grew up. There is no better experience than helping to bring a new life into the world. I have the coolest job ever! In addition to being a part of one of the most important moments in a woman's life, I also get to help women with issues that are difficult for them to share. I strive to create a welcoming and safe environment for our members during our visit. I recognize that dealing with gynecologic concerns can be embarrassing and challenging to talk about. I hope when a woman leaves my office she feels she was heard, she is not alone and that she will be better.
Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente in 2016, I practiced in a multi-specialty group in Colorado Springs for six years. There, I built strong relationship with my patients. It was such a joy to watch as their lives evolved. They became college graduates, home owners, wives, mothers and successful in their careers. I look forward to building the same type of relationships with my Kaiser Permanente patients over the remainder of my career.
Cómo vivo bien
I thrive by counting my blessings, meditating and hiking with my pup. Being in a career that requires caring for others can be emotionally draining. Reconnecting with nature charges my soul and gives me energy to share with others. As an introvert, quiet time brings me peace and empties my head of the thousands of thoughts that can be distracting. One of my favorite meditation tools is the Gayatri Mantra. I learned about it in the book, "The Secret Prayer," which has been life changer for me.
Besides meditation, I also find ways to practice gratitude. The practice of gratitude has many proven benefits. The simple act of listing how I am blessed every day keeps me from feeling overwhelmed by the many demands life brings. I only have one life to live. Therefore, I strive to use my life to be a positive presence in the lives of those I am fortunate enough to know. This is what brings me joy.
