Acerca de mí
I knew I wanted to be a physician at a very young age. After pursuing a short career in public health, I realized I wanted a more hands-on method of healing others. Ophthalmology allows me the unique opportunity to positively impact a person's health and vision, while also granting me the opportunity to formulate lasting bonds with our members. I grew up outside Philadelphia. I received my undergraduate degree in biochemistry, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania as part of the Benjamin Franklin Scholars Program and continued there for my medical degree. I then completed my ophthalmology training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Although I enjoyed my time in a high-volume private practice in southern Virginia, I am now thrilled to be a part of Kaiser Permanente.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
My practice consists largely of patients with cataracts. I pride myself in restoring our members' vision, often eliminating the need for glasses. Alleviating patients' fears and guiding them through the surgical process is a particularly important aspect of the care I provide. One of my most fulfilling experiences has been performing cataract surgery for the poor in rural India. I hope to return soon and to continue doing this throughout my career. I feel honored that patients have entrusted their care to me, and it is a responsibility that I do not take lightly. I strive to treat our members as I would my own family.
