Acerca de mí
I grew up in a small, rural town in south Georgia. Growing up, most of my family worked in the health care field in some capacity. I saw how much they enjoyed their respective jobs so it was natural for me to become interested in health care as well. I moved to Atlanta in 2004 and attended Mercer University, where I obtained my bachelor's degree in nursing. I then attended Georgia State University and earned my master's degree in nursing.
I chose to become a nurse because I have a passion for people and their well-being. Nursing is where I belong. I absolutely love being a nurse and can't imagine doing anything else!
Acerca de mi práctica médica
The body is intricate and complicated. It can be overwhelming and sometimes scary when faced with a particular illness or procedure. My role at Kaiser Permanente is to assist GI and ENT providers in responding to patients' questions/concerns regarding their medical care. I love to teach and break things down so that they are better understood by our members. I believe a person should be as knowledgeable as possible about what is going on with their body.
Cómo vivo bien
I thrive by doing what makes me happy. My family brings me so much joy! I am blessed with a wonderful husband and two daughters, and we enjoy spending time together. We are "foodies" and our favorite family activity is trying different restaurants and foods.
I am also an avid reader and enjoy yoga. These two things relax my mind and body. I try to do them daily.
My other interests include DIY-ing (do it yourself), gardening and community service projects with my sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
