Kaiser Permanente medical center practitioner
Idioma que hablo:
Sí, acepto pacientes nuevos. Es posible que sea necesaria una remisión.
My roots are in the Midwest. I was born in central Nebraska, the second oldest of four children. Being raised on a farm meant that by the age of eight I knew the realities of hard work, how everyone contributes for family success and to do the job right the first time. This work ethic helps me maintain the efforts needed to become a successful physician and understand the concept of deferred gratification. My undergraduate and medical school training were at the University of Nebraska. My residency training in otolaryngology (ENT) was completed at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and my fellowship training was completed in Indianapolis. Since completing my fellowship in 1990, I have been with Kaiser Permanente.
My specialty is ENT with fellowship training in reconstructive and facial plastic surgery. This specialty is somewhat unique in that we see patients of all ages. This allows me to treat all members of a family including children needing surgery for ear problems, helping dad with snoring or sinus problems or helping grandmother with reconstructive surgery after skin cancer. This "family" treatment helps me in my basic premise of medicine, "Treat all patients like family." I have and will continue to recommend treatment or surgery on the basis of what I would recommend to my family or myself. This overlying principle is also innate to Kaiser Permanente medicine and is what has made me a lifelong Kaiser Permanente physician.
Being involved in athletics from middle school through college showed me the physical and mental benefits of good health. Exercise continues to be a daily routine for myself and my family. My love for athletics has me busy coaching in the community in whatever sport my three boys may be participating in. Our church family helps us maintain our spiritual health, with my personal greatest pleasure being able to participate in an energetic choir. To me, good health is one day at a time, but always planning for the future.
