Acerca de mí
I grew up in a small town in the Northeast and spent many summers in Italy, where I have an extended family. Medicine always seemed to be a wonderful way to link science and humanity. After attending college and medical school in New England, I practiced academic medicine in Boston for several years, focusing on head and neck cancer. Marriage and children led me to the Boston suburbs, where I entered a private practice at a teaching hospital and served as the chief of otolaryngology. My wife and two daughters have been the focus and foundation of my personal life, just as the practice of medicine is the basis of my professional life. Our move to Atlanta and Kaiser Permanente has been accompanied by personal, as well as professional, fulfillment. Kaiser Permanente offers me an opportunity to deliver high-quality specialty care, with the patient as my primary focus, in an atmosphere that is collegial and team-oriented.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I have increasingly realized how much high-quality health care delivery depends upon interdependence. I believe we can do so much more through Kaiser Permanente's comprehensive approach to health care. Our department offers a broad range of otolaryngology (ears, nose and throat or ENT) and audiology (hearing and balance) services to our members. My most important role as the chief of the ENT Department is to foster collegiality amongst physicians and a team approach to patient care amongst the entire staff. The member is the focus of our service and our role is to listen carefully and politely to concerns, offer education and reassurance and follow through with appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic measures. We strive to offer our members high-quality, affordable health care. We accomplish these goals in an atmosphere that is inviting and friendly.
Cómo vivo bien
I have long been an advocate of exercise to maintain the mind and body. My early morning routine consists of swimming, elliptical training and resistance work. I also enjoy recreational basketball, cycling and rollerblading with my family and friends. The benefits to personal and professional life cannot be understated.Music has been a big part of my life since childhood, having played the piano and other keyboard instruments all my life. In the past ten years, I have studied voice with a teacher and participated in choral groups and as church cantor. My religious faith is important to me and singing gives me a vehicle to express it. In my practice, I am able to apply my knowledge and experience as a singer to my patients with voice problems.I love to travel in the U.S. and in my ancestral Italy. I maintain my fluency in Italian and keep in close touch with my extended family abroad. My Italian roots offer me a diverse cultural perspective that carries over into my professional and personal life.
