I am originally from Brooklyn, N.Y., born to immigrant parents. My desire to become a doctor started at a very young age and has transcended over the years into a passion. All of my studies were completed in N.Y., where I practiced in underserved communities for several years. A change of pace brought my family to Atlanta, where I have been practicing since 2006. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2010, and I have fused my previous experiences with the philosophy of a growing and dynamic organization.
My cultural background, as well as the diversity in my surroundings, has shaped me into the type of physician that I have become. I aim to engage our members in their care and educate them on their current conditions so that they can be better equipped to improve their health. I see medical care as a partnership between physician and patient, where the patient serves a very active role. I chose to become a family physician because it afforded me the opportunity to provide thorough care to the patients and the families that I have come to know over the years.
True balance in life requires a balance of mind, body and spirit (or work, family and play). I thrive by spending as much time with my husband and children as I possibly can. I am the baseball and softball mom who is often traveling to different cities and states. Therefore, I am always surrounded by children who keep my heart uplifted. I aim towards spiritual balance as I believe that we are all "a work in progress" (as long as we are working towards that goal). I like writing and reading, and I especially enjoy entertaining and having a good time with good people.
