Acerca de mí
I was born in Tulsa, Okla., but my family moved to Atlanta when I was three years old. I like to say that I am about as much of a native Atlantan as you can find these days. With the exception of living in Cincinnati for five years during my post-graduate studies, residency training and some time in private practice, I have been a Georgia resident for the majority of my life, including college and medical school. I remember expressing an interest in becoming a doctor at the ripe age of five. My thoughts about why I wanted to pursue a career in medicine have changed since then, but the goal has always been the same.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I have been with Kaiser Permanente Adult Medicine Department since moving back to Atlanta in September 2001. I am proud to tell people that I am a physician for Kaiser Permanente, and I enjoy getting to know our members. I have a very busy practice, but I try to spend enough time with each member. I do not like feeling rushed and do not want our members to feel that way either. I chose internal medicine as a specialty because I want to follow patients over years, not for a short amount of time due to a brief illness or injury. Over the years, I have served on various committees with Kaiser Permanente, trying to add a bit of variety and some balance to my clinical, office work. While I am honored to have these roles, I will always keep the bulk of my time directly involved in the care of our members.
Cómo vivo bien
While my profession is that of doctor, I feel that my most important job is that of husband and father. I have a wonderful, supportive wife and three beautiful children. They keep me balanced and fill my spare time away from the office. Other ways that I thrive include running and snow skiing for fitness. I love to travel and wish I had more time to explore new places. I also stay up-to-date on the latest electronics, computers and other gadgets. Finally, I try to incorporate some volunteer work into my hectic life, though it is never as much as I would like.
