Acerca de mí
I am a proud first-generation American and son of Colombian immigrants, born and raised in Houston, Texas. My parents' loving sacrifice and value of hard work, education and excellence afforded me the opportunities and discipline to achieve my dream of becoming a physician. I ventured off to North Carolina to get my undergraduate degree at Duke University, where I became an avid Duke basketball fan and met my wife. I went to the University of Texas Southwestern for medical school and finished my general surgery residency training in New Orleans at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation. I moved with my wife and young family to Atlanta, where I completed a minimally invasive/bariatric fellowship at Emory University.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I feel extremely blessed to be able to use my surgical training to serve our members and help restore their health. As a board-certified general surgeon, I am specially trained to perform minimally invasive and robotic general surgical procedures which include: laparoscopic gallbladder removal, repairs of abdominal, inguinal or hiatal hernias and anti-reflux procedures. I also enjoy doing weight loss surgeries, such as gastric bypasses and sleeve gastrectomies, because of the dramatic physical and psychological impacts I have witnessed in the lives of my relatives and patients who have had the surgery.
Cómo vivo bien
I thrive by placing my faith and family at the forefront of my life. My faith guides and challenges me to serve others with my time, talents and treasures. Meditation and prayer also help rejuvenate me spiritually so I can better balance all of life's demands.
My wife and I enjoy exploring metro Atlanta and beyond with our four children. Whether we are picking apples at a North Georgia farm, having a picnic at Piedmont Park, riding go-carts or going to the museums downtown, our children always keep us very active, tired and armed with a great story to share!
