Kaiser Permanente medical center practitioner
Idioma que hablo:
Sí, acepto pacientes nuevos.
I was born in a small town in rural Minnesota, and I attended college and medical school in Minnesota. After completing my residency, I spent an extra year of training as a chief resident, where I mentored and taught medical students and fellow residents. I then began my pediatric practice in Minnesota before moving down to Atlanta and joining Kaiser Permanente in 2006.When people ask me why I chose pediatrics as a specialty, I can truly say that it was as close to a "calling" as I think anyone can get. I cannot imagine doing anything else.
It is a privilege working with our members and their families at the Cumberland Medical Center. I love my job, and I use a great amount of humor in my practice. I especially enjoy teaching patients and their families how to take control of their own health, and I spend time during checkups discussing healthy living choices. I think education is extremely important, so while I tell patients and their families what diagnosis a child may have, I also make sure to tell them why that diagnosis applies. I do this so they can see my thought process and know I have listened to their concerns.I am also the lead physician for the Cumberland pediatric team, and I enjoy the administrative duties that come with that position (though it helps that I think our pediatric team is absolutely terrific).
I stay active physically and mentally. I love to come home from work and go for a run in and around Piedmont Park in Atlanta. I also enjoy traveling, reading, cooking and spending time with my family. I am naturally someone who multitasks, so I am rarely sitting still.
