Acerca de mí
I am a Southern California native who grew up enjoying beaches and great weather. Throughout childhood and adolescence, I was involved in school and community activities including student government, sports (especially softball) and volunteering. The importance of serving others was an important value within my family and motivated my desire to pursue a career in a profession where I can help others.I left California to attend Morgan State University in Baltimore, and I obtained my undergraduate degree in psychology. The colder weather of the Mid-Atlantic made me long for somewhere warmer for graduate school. As such, I ventured south to attend the University of South Carolina. I then moved to Atlanta to complete my psychology internship and postdoctoral training at Emory University School of Medicine.Throughout my training and career, I have specialized in working with children, adolescents and families. I am looking forward to continuing this passion in my current practice at Kaiser Permanente.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
As a clinical psychologist who specializes in working with children, adolescents and families, I believe that multiple factors influence the functioning of individuals and families. My approach to therapy is to understand how the individual and the dynamics of their environment contribute to their lives. I take a collaborative approach to therapy and strive to make the patient and their family an active part of the therapeutic process. In my practice, parent and family involvement is instrumental.
Cómo vivo bien
Family, friends, fun and faith are important parts of my life that allow me to thrive. Living in Atlanta provides many opportunities to maintain balance and find fun things to do. Although I am a hardcore fan of Southern California sports teams, I still enjoy attending baseball games at Turner Field. My family enjoys vacations to beaches (or other sunny places) and taking part in volunteer activities. I often relax by going on walks, playing with my children or sitting down with a good book. I consider myself an amateur "foodie," so I am often found at new or unique restaurants with family or friends.
