Kaiser Permanente medical center practitioner
Idioma que hablo:
Sí, acepto pacientes nuevos. Es posible que sea necesaria una remisión.
I was born and raised north of the Atlanta area. I am very blessed to have all of my close family within a few miles of my home. I have been married for 10 years to my high school sweetheart. I received my bachelor's degree at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing. I attended Emory University after receiving my undergraduate degree and received my certification in wound and ostomy care. With encouragement from my nursing mentor, I obtained my master’s degree from Emory University and became an adult nurse practitioner. I absolutely love nursing, and I share this passion by teaching undergraduate nursing students at Kennesaw State University.
I currently practice within the Kaiser Permanente General Surgery Department with a specific focus on wound care. I am often asked by Kaiser Permanente members why I chose this particular specialty. I respond by explaining this is a much needed specialty in medicine and many people suffer with chronic conditions that often lead to wounds. My practice allows me to build close relationships with members as I often see them on a weekly basis. This also gives me the opportunity to educate members on their chronic disease processes and encourage them to be an active participant in their medical care.
I love spending time with my family and friends. My husband and I particularly enjoy taking frequent short trips to the North Georgia Mountains or the Smoky Mountains in North Carolina. In my free time, I enjoy whitewater rafting, hiking, fishing, reading and cooking. I also volunteer with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and local health fairs. I hope to soon begin short-term medical mission trips to specifically teach wound care in other countries.
