Acerca de mí
I was born in Nova Scotia and raised in New Brunswick on Canada's beautiful East Coast. I graduated from Mount Allison University with a bachelor's degree in biology and received my optometric training from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn. Although, I have many fond memories from my time in Canada, I have quickly become acclimated to life (and the heat) in the South. After graduating from optometry school, I moved to Chattanooga and lived there for six years before making my way to Atlanta in 2008.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I am excited to be working at one of Kaiser Permanente's state-of-the-art optometry clinics. We are fortunate to have the latest equipment and technology to care for members. Before coming to Kaiser Permanente, I worked in a private practice setting. Although optometry has traditionally revolved around prescribing glasses and fitting contact lenses, I am also focused on maintaining the health of your eyes. I manage ocular conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, as well as coordinating care with the Kaiser Permanente ophthalmology team.
Cómo vivo bien
Kaiser Permanente encourages a work-life balance for both its members and its employees. This is something that I take to heart. Although I enjoy learning and growing as a practitioner, I have come to truly value my time outside of work. I am passionate about traveling, and I enjoy exploring new cultures, ideas and experiences. I am an avid reader and enjoy hiking, biking and tennis. I am very involved in the Atlanta tennis community and, when not on the court, I spend the remainder of my downtime with my family and rescue dog, Cocoa.
