Acerca de mí
I grew up in India and my childhood was quite different than what I see here. We were an extended family with aunts, uncles and cousins, and we all lived in a huge house together. Dealing with so many people made me learn at a very early age how to be assertive and strong. My mother was a very strong woman and always supported me having my own opinions and personality. I always wanted to be independent and respected for who I am. While in school, I had the privilege to work with Mother Teresa's orphanage. I would watch the children and cry as they had nothing, but happily played with each other. I moved to the U.S. in 1999 with my husband. We have two beautiful children.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I practiced in India for three years before doing a family practice residency in Schenectady, N.Y. The cold and snow drove us to warm, sunny Atlanta. I work in adult medicine and enjoy it thoroughly. I am a family practice doctor, and I try to be a friend to all my patients. I work with our members to understand what works for them, give them all the relevant information needed for their health, recognize their health goals and try to understand each member’s unique situation and circumstances. I like working together with our members to reach the goal of having a physically and emotionally healthy individual.
Cómo vivo bien
I like to find balance in my life. My philosophy is simplicity. All you need is a positive attitude. I love children and appreciate how they love you unconditionally and can teach us all some valuable life lessons. I try to spend as much time as possible with my family. A perfect vacation to me is just staying home, talking and taking walks together. I believe your lifestyle is reflected in your health, and eating a healthy diet and staying active in what you like to do will lead to a full life. I also do not think you should deprive yourself and should treat yourself every once in a while, but you still should not make dessert your meal!
