Acerca de mí
My path to becoming a psychologist was an indirect one, but I am certain it was the right one. I grew up and went to school in the Atlanta area. After completing my undergraduate studies in the Midwest, I went on to work in the field of engineering and technology. However, I soon realized my true purpose was to be a facilitator of change through interpersonal contact with others. From a young age, I always enjoyed helping people, and I can honestly say I am so thankful I have an opportunity to do that daily in a career that I believe is just a natural extension of who I am.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I believe as individuals, whether you are a child/adolescent or adult, we are all unique and a beautiful tapestry of various aspects and experiences. My approach to patient care is one that tries to take into account the biological, psychological and social factors that have helped shape and influence who you are and where you are, whether it is during the course of therapy or psychological testing. Ultimately, I consider myself an integrationist, and based on patient needs, I utilize a variety of theoretical and evidence-based approaches. However, I tend to gravitate to a systemic and interpersonal approach as it relates to treatment. Additionally, I enjoy working with individuals across the lifespan from children to adults.
Cómo vivo bien
I try to stay spiritually, mentally and physically grounded. I enjoy staying active by exercising and playing with my son. Being a mom, maintaining close relationships with family and friends, and having quiet time to meditate and reflect on my inner most thoughts, helps me maintain a sense of balance and fulfillment in my life. I also like to watch movies, read, exercise, travel and create scrapbooks.
