About Me

Hello. I am new to California but not new to joint replacement surgery! I am happy to help members achieve their mobility and activity goals and help relieve pain by providing hip and knee replacement care. It is a privilege for members to trust me as their surgeon to help improve their quality of life.

Biography

My childhood years were spent just outside of Buffalo, New York, where I learned a love of anatomy and movement through ballet dancing. University was at Duke in Durham, North Carolina, where I had my first observation of hip replacement surgery. I was very impressed by how well the patients did. Next, I attended medical school back home at State University of New York at Buffalo. From there, I did the orthopedic surgery residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, followed by the hip and knee replacement fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital under the directorship of Dr. Jose Rodriguez. This was an excellent experience to learn multiple approaches to the hip, as well as more complex hip and knee revision surgery. My family and I thought we would remain in the New York City region, but as time went on, we had our eye on the West Coast. After 7 years of practice in the New York City region, we were very happy to have an opportunity to relocate to beautiful Orange County. I am thankful to be in a medical practice that really cares about the overall wellness of members and having a healthy lifestyle.

About my practice

Our practice is very collegial, and there is easy communication between our primary care doctors and surgeons. We have an excellent joint replacement team and resources at our Center of Excellence. This keeps our success rates quite high. A generalized list of surgeries that are a normal part of my practice are: total knee replacement, total hip replacement (posterior, direct anterior, anterolateral approaches), partial knee replacement, revision total hip replacement, revision total knee replacement, conversion of failed hip fracture surgery to total hip replacement. We do same-day joint replacements when clinically appropriate. Our anesthesia team has modern techniques to minimize pain and blood loss. The goals are to keep improving member experience and reducing the risks in any way possible.

How I thrive

The best times are spent with my husband, son, and boxer dog, hanging out at home or the beaches and parks. To stay fit, we hike and take bike rides. I have done hundreds of hours of Pilates classes and sessions to prevent injury and keep strong. I also enjoy stand-up paddle, scuba, and surfing. We like to travel and are excited to explore California.
