About Me

"If I can help someone as I pass along, If I can cheer someone with a word or song, If I can show someone he's traveling wrong then my living is not in vain." Mahalia Jackson

I am a native of Chicago, IL. I started my medical career in high school as a Licensed Practical Nurse and have had many ups/downs on this journey to becoming an Internist and Pediatrician. I am the youngest of 2 girls as well as a wife, mentor and motivational speaker. I have a four-legged son "Sammy" (dog) whom I love dearly. I chose medicine as my career because I enjoy caring for the whole person. I am committed to providing excellent comprehensive care by giving the tools to help you live your healthiest life now and later. You will leave me knowing that you have a cheerleader and a partner to help with your medical care. I am serious about your health and well-being and I enjoy connecting with you and motivating you to be healthy.

About my practice

As a member of the Kaiser Permanente Family Practice Department, I see members of all ages, from newborns to our geriatric members. My goal as a doctor is to provide patient -centered quality care and compassion with excellence. I strive to equip you with resources to help make quality decisions for overall health and well-being. I enjoy encouraging you to take ownership of your health. I will teach you how to be healthy and whole while walking through life stressors and tragedies. Our staff work together to ensure that you fully understand every aspect of your visit and you leave determined and motivated for self-care and self-love.

How I thrive

I thrive by making sure I have taken care of myself first. Caregivers often neglect self to serve others but I have adopted the principle of self-care to empower others. I am fortunate to have a wonderful husband who supports me to the fullest. I cherish time spent with my sister and sister-friends when we are all available. I love traveling, event planning, and crafting. I enjoy helping people to plan for the future while living in the moment. One life changing memory I have is a medical missions trip to Lilongwe, Malawi where my eyes were widely opened to a whole new world of love, compassion, and appreciation for life. This was the most memorable trip I have ever experienced which helps keep me grounded from day to day. I am here and ready to serve you.
