About Me

Hello and welcome!

Biography

l left my native Cuba when I was eight years old and have called many places home since then—I went to high school in Puerto Rico, college in Boston, and medical school in New York. I’ve lived in Los Angeles since 1980. I trained in pediatrics and adolescent medicine at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and finally set down roots in Southern California. I married a native Californian and have two young adult sons.

About my practice

I’m a pediatrician in the Pediatrics Department. I work in our Adolescent Health Care Center and focus my practice on the care and health of our teenage members. In the health center, we take a proactive and multidisciplinary team approach to the medical care of adolescents. We explore and address the psychosocial and behavioral risks that affect the health of our young people. The clinic is staffed with a caring team of two pediatricians, a health educator, a social worker, and two nurses.

How I thrive

I enjoy photography, travel and spending time with my family. I also enjoy nature. My favorite places to visit are Hawaii, our national parks, and Spain. My family and I volunteer in community service programs through our school and church.
