About Me

I was born at Kaiser Permanente Hawaii’s Ala Moana Medical Center, which was relocated to Moanalua in 1985, and spent my childhood in beautiful and luscious Manoa valley. Growing up I found learning about the human body fascinating and wanted to find a career in which I could provide care for those in need.

About my practice

I first became interested in family medicine during medical school and enjoyed the breadth of ages and the variety of topics it covered. My preceptor was also an inspiration to me; I loved watching him interact and connect with families. At the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group I am fortunate to work with a great group of physicians and medical staff who value integrated and coordinated care and who believe in practicing evidence-based medicine every day. Being able to contact specialists readily for advice and referral makes it easy for me to do my job right. And I really appreciate how easy it is to prescribe medicines to patients when needed through our integrated pharmacies and wonderful pharmaceutical professionals. I believe in caring for my patients like family. During patient visits I try to find common ground and connect with them and I especially enjoy my interactions with the keiki. I am also a member of the Quality Improvement Team for the family medicine department which reviews cases, concerns and questions from our patients and other departments to continuously learn and improve our care.

How I thrive

I keep fit by running or walking every day. I really enjoy spending time with my kids biking, playing at the park, going to the beach and helping out with all of their activities. My family keeps me grounded and I appreciate every moment spent with them. Now and then, I steal a night out with my girlfriends, who also bring great joy to my life.
