About Me

After growing up in Michigan, I discovered the wonders of Colorado during my medical residency at the University of Colorado. It didn't take long for my wife and I to decide that Colorado was going to be our home. After completing my training at Indiana University, we headed back to Denver to stay. For several years, I practiced very rewarding work with Veterans at the Denver Veterans Affairs Hospital where I served as the Director of Hepatology and Endoscopy. I was lured to Kaiser Permanente by the emphasis on patient-centered care and preventive medicine.

About my practice

I enjoy both the intellectual and hands-on aspects of Gastroenterology. I am particularly interested in liver disease and improving endoscopy/colonoscopy. I have extensive experience in treating liver disease and a strong background in Hepatitis C. In the endoscopy lab, I strive to provide high quality colonoscopies by using the most up to date techniques to improve detection of pre-cancerous polyps, maximize safety, and minimize patient discomfort.Providing care that improves lives, whether by helping to treat abdominal discomfort, removing pre-cancerous lesions, treating hepatitis, or by simply making a colonoscopy as comfortable an experience as possible brings me great satisfaction.

How I thrive

I am happiest spending time with my wife and two great kids playing outdoors. We enjoy bike riding, hiking, and skiing.
