Welcome to my Web page. I'm glad to have this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you a bit about my practice.
I am a native of Southern California. Having grown up in the Los Angeles area, I have a great love for the outdoors, including our mountains, beaches, and deserts. My family of two boys, a daughter, and a wonderful wife share the same interests, and we take our vacations skiing, windsurfing, and hiking together. While my wife and I share many other interests, we have put these on hold while we spend all of our spare time with our young children. I decided to become a physician while in high school and have never regretted the decision. I enjoy working with people as much as with my hands, so I found orthopedic surgery to be a perfect fit, and I enjoy it more every year.
I am now working full time in orthopedics, having stopped my administrative work. I have enjoyed a general orthopedic practice for many years and am focusing my interest around trauma care. I am fortunate to work in an excellent department staffed with some outstanding people that make this an enjoyable place to spend my career. Philosophically, my practice is oriented toward educating people to help them make their own decisions about care. Traditionally, medicine dictated to patients what care they would receive. Members, given information and options, are in a much better position to determine the care they want, and I am glad to be part of an organization that embraces this theory.
Exercise has been the mainstay of my personal life. Life starts for me every day with an early morning workout. Running, swimming, and cycling are essential for my well-being and a constant source of renewed energy. My members know that I love to have fun and that visits with me are serious for the important stuff but often light-hearted because there's a lot more to life than problems.
