Acerca de mí
Hello and welcome to my Web page! My name is Dr. del Rosario—or Dr. del, for short—and I'd like to share a little about my practice and myself.
I was born in Wisconsin, raised by hard working parents who emigrated from the Philippines. My late father was the town doctor who absolutely loved his job. My mother, a medical technician, helped run his clinic. As a kid, my dad showed me what it meant to be a dedicated, caring, and knowledgeable physician—he always brought laughter and passion to his work. I received a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Northwestern University. I got my medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. I completed my psychiatry residency at UCLA San Fernando Valley. Finally, my child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship training was at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. I worked as a clinical professor and staff psychiatrist at the UCLA–Kern Psychiatry Program form 2006 to 2014, before joining Kaiser Permanente. My amazing wife and I are blessed to have a wonderful, energetic son—he's growing up so fast!
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I am board-certified in general psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry. I practice the biopsychosocial/cultural/spiritual model of psychiatry, appreciating that everyone I meet in my office comes to me with a unique life story. Therefore, every member deserves a treatment plan that is specifically tailored for his or her struggles at that point in time. I like to collaborate with my multidisciplinary team, to provide comprehensive care for my members. When working with children and adolescents, I like to be playful and engaging, while working together with parents. At every session, I like to conclude by reviewing safety issues, diagnostic studies and diagnostic review, medication planning, psychotherapy planning, and any social interventions. I work together with each member to develop a treatment plan that we both feel comfortable with. And, lastly, I like engaging family members in the process.
Cómo vivo bien
I stay balanced by hanging out with my wife and our entertaining son. I've had a variety of hobbies that help me decompress after work—golf, tennis, soccer, yoga, exercise, radio controlled airplanes, and guitar. In my free time, my son makes me play the villains, while he always gets to be Spider-Man.
