Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page. I’m pleased to introduce myself, and tell you about my practice.
I was born and raised in Southern California. I became interested in medicine at an early age, but also wanted to design and build mechanical devices. I earned a degree in mechanical engineering at UC Irvine before attending medical school at UCLA. The engineering curriculum satisfied my general interests, but also proved to be an asset in my practice as an orthopaedic surgeon. Following my residency at Harbor–UCLA Medical Center, I completed a fellowship in orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Initially I was in private practice, but joined Kaiser Permanente in 1993.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I specialize in orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery. My practice consists of reconstructive surgery of the ankle and hind foot, as well as trauma of the foot and ankle. I also perform knee arthroscopy. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because I can practice medicine in a manner that I feel is in the best interest of my members.
Cómo vivo bien
Although difficult to achieve, I feel it’s important to have a balance of work, exercise, fun, and idle time in our lives. I try to get some exercise during the week—before or after work—to ease stress and keep fit. Weekends and evenings are family time, for the most part, but I do set aside some weekends for auto racing. I find the competition and adrenaline associated with driving a racecar keeps me more focused and satisfied at work. In addition to racing cars, I enjoy practicing automotive mechanics, wine tasting, fishing, and golf. I’m very fortunate to have a gratifying career that enables me to use my expertise and skills to improve the well-being of others.
