Acerca de mí
I joined the department of psychiatry in July 1984 and have been with Kaiser Permanente since that time. My practice is currently located in the Tustin/Santa Ana Medical Office building. Two of the best things about working here are that there are many talented and helpful colleagues and that we have excellent opportunities to keep up with the changes in our field. The new medical record system is very useful in helping us form a comprehensive view of our patients.
Psychiatrists in general like to keep their personal life private. That helps us focus on you, your family, and your life in the outside world. We're interested in where you're from, why you do what you do, and trying to figure out ways of helping you feel better. Medications are often an important part of the treatment, but knowing and working with someone over the years is useful and can be full of meaning and importance.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
In the psychiatry department, the psychiatrists provide consultation, diagnostic, and medication management services. We are assisted by a team of clerical staff who take messages and schedule appointments. Nurses return most of the calls patients make to psychiatrists and are valuable team members. When needed, psychotherapy is provided by a variety of mental health professionals, but not by the psychiatrists. Follow-up visits are usually 3 to 6 months apart.

Again, what is personal is best kept private. I can say that my co-workers are wonderful to work with and be around. The organization itself provides a lot of structure and support. It takes care of the business end of the practice--something I wouldn't know how to do--making it easier to stay focused on your treatment. The pharmacy and laboratory are downstairs. The primary care doctors are down the hall. People are available and ready to help. This is a blessing.
