Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to introduce myself, and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente with wonderful colleagues and patients, and look forward to partnering with you to care for your health.
I was born in the Philippines, and joined my parents and siblings in the United States when I was 14. I finished high school and my undergraduate studies in central California, and then returned to the Philippines for medical school. I returned to the United States to do my residency in family practice at the Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois, through a program sponsored by the University of Illinois. Shortly after graduation and passing the board exams, I returned to California, and joined Kaiser Permanente in Bakersfield. I feel very blessed to practice here. Service to others has always been an important part of my life, and the field of medicine has given me the chance to do just that.
Medicine as a career is a very special opportunity to help people in a meaningful way. I utilize both medical knowledge as well as listening skills to understand what patients want and need. I feel very privileged that patients entrust me with their care, and I strive to treat them as I would my own family. The field of medicine is very dynamic and ever-changing. New information is always emerging. By mandate, we are required to keep up with medical advances through continuing medical education programs, but I welcome patients to bring me information they feel is important to their health that they find on the Internet or in publications.
For me, nurturing the mind, body, and soul is the key to thriving. Foremost is my faith in God. Without it, I would probably always be in a state of anxiety or doubt. It is this faith that keeps me smiling even in trying times. Next is family. I am blessed to have an understanding and loving wife and children. Taking trips with the family, or just playing games at home is always a treat for me. Coming home after a long day at work is energizing. Choosing the right place to work is also very important.
