I’m glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. I feel very fortunate to have worked at Kaiser Permanente for the past 30 years, mainly because of how much I enjoy working with my colleagues and treating patients. I look forward to working with you to take care of your health.
I was born on the beautiful west coast of India, which resembles Hawaii. During my high school years I decided to become a doctor, following in the footsteps of my father. I graduated from medical school in India and migrated to the United States to further my career. After finishing my training in obstetrics and gynecology at New York University-Bellevue Medical Center in New York City, I moved to Southern California and fell in love with the area and the way medicine is practiced at Kaiser Permanente. I have three lovely daughters: my eldest is a special education teacher for autistic kids; my second is in medical school; and my third is in high school and aspires to be a physician.
Medicine as a career is a very special opportunity to connect with and help people in a meaningful way, utilizing medical skills and knowledge but also listening and responding to what patients need. I feel that healthy living and preventive care are the best ways to stay healthy, but I’m also here to help you when you are sick. I want to be your partner in health, and it helps me better care for you when you are taking good care of yourself.
I firmly believe in Kaiser Permanente’s philosophy of health in mind, spirit, and body and try to live it myself every day. My family life is my highest priority outside of work. Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. I try to stay healthy by eating right and taking daily early-morning walks.
