Acerca de mí
My name is Dr. Michael Low, and I have been a podiatrist here at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower since 1984. Welcome to my Web page!
I was born at Queen of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles. My father is a pharmacist and had a private pharmacy here in Southern California. When I was 5 years old, my family moved to my grandfather’s farm in Napa, California. This was the farm where my father grew up. My father purchased another farm in Fairfield, and continued his pharmacy practice in that city. One of the reasons why I chose medicine as a career was the care and concern I witnessed when I watched my father dispense medications to his patients. I did my undergraduate studies at UC Davis, and my podiatry medical education at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. My fourth year podiatry medical training was at USC/Los Angeles County Medical Center, and I did my resident training at the VA Medical Center in West Los Angeles. I did a post-graduate fellowship at Amberry Podiatry Clinic in Long Beach.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
We have a great team here at the Podiatry clinic in Bellflower. When I first started, I was the only podiatrist at our Bellflower facility. Now we have five full-time podiatrists, two part-time podiatrists, and one podiatrist who works on an as-needed basis. In our clinic, two podiatrists concentrate on diabetic patients who have diabetic wound and bone problems. The rest of us practice general and surgical podiatry, which includes treatment of bunions, hammertoes, corns, heel pain, ingrown toenails, foot lesions, and many other aliments.
Cómo vivo bien
First of all, I am involved in the Boy Scouts program with my two sons. We participate in many Scouts activities, including hiking, camping, and field trips to very interesting places or to participate in events. We do a lot of volunteer activities in the community, including beach cleanup, helping with onsite school activities, and other service projects. I enjoy many outdoor activities, including surfing, tennis, and swimming. Recently, I restored my father’s vintage Army jeep, and I am involved with a group that restores military vehicles. We participate in parades, car shows, and other special events. Our group gives rides in parades with retired and active military personnel as well as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and anyone else who’s interested. This is the way we like to thank and celebrate our military men and women in uniform, past, present and future.
