Acerca de mí
Hello! I am happy to introduce myself and share with you a little about myself and my clinical practice with Kaiser Permanente in Kern County. I am honored to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente team and enjoy the small-town feel of Kern County. It's like the charm and perks of the Midwest nestled inside central California.
I am a first-generation American. My parent were ethnic Chinese who immigrated to the United States from Vietnam when I was an infant. During and after college, I worked as care staff for developmentally disabled and severely emotionally disturbed teens, which ignited my passion for caring for people and for the health care field in general.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I joined Kaiser Permanente in October 2016. I went to UC Santa Barbara for my undergraduate studies, majoring in English literature. I attended the University of Toledo College of Medicine in Ohio for medical school and completed my residency training there as well. I also served as chief resident. I chose the specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation because I believe in optimizing quality of life and maximizing function even in the face of incurable, life-altering, or traumatic conditions. I was formerly a certified strength-and-conditioning specialist, which I bring into my practice by educating members on how proper body mechanics and exercise can improve health. I encourage members to maintain healthy lifestyles by stressing the importance of healthy eating habits, exercise, and being active.
Cómo vivo bien
I am an avid strength trainer, Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, and yoga practitioner. I have also been a vegetarian for over 20 years. I believe that we should all strive to achieve our potential physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually, and to encourage and support others on their own journey.
