Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Kaiser Permanente Web page! On this page you will find some information about me and my practice, and I hope it helps you to get to know me better or make a decision about who you choose for your primary care doctor.
I was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in the northern suburbs. My older relatives were the California pioneers in the family, moving to the newly opened Leisure World retirement community in Seal Beach in the early 1960s. I remember a lot of orange groves when I visited back then, a more idyllic time of “E” tickets at Disneyland, when Knott’s was actually a berry farm, and they still had tours at the Busch factory in Van Nuys. I moved out here in 1981, expecting all the same things. Little did I know! The last 25 years have seen a lot of changes in Southern California, and I've also seen Kaiser Permanente grow into a high-quality health care organization. I’m happy to be practicing in a program that has raised the bar for all health care delivery systems.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
My philosophy is that each member deserves personal time and attention. My practice is not run like a conveyor belt - remember that I Love Lucy episode in the chocolate factory? I don’t do that. I wouldn’t want to be treated like a widget if I were a member, so I spend time talking to my patients, discussing their care (and their grandchildren, and their travels), making sure they understand their problems, and how we can work together to improve their health.
Cómo vivo bien
You can take charge of your own well-being by exercising, eating a healthy diet, and throwing your cares away. The data says if you follow this you will live longer. Myself, I go to the movies a lot, get eight hours of sleep a night, surf the Internet (more than I should), and travel (less than I want to). I’ve also never met anything containing chocolate that I didn’t like. I’m of a mind that living well isn’t necessarily living as long as circumstances and genetics allow. Rather, it’s about making the most of the time you have. I’m planning a road trip to the Deep South. Peanut Butter pie, here I come!
