Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. Kaiser Permanente is a wonderful place for me to work. I’m thankful for my excellent colleagues and our wonderful members. I look forward to working with you to care for your health.
I was born in Mexico and raised in Hong Kong. I was tri-lingual (Spanish, Chinese, English) at the young age of six. I am grateful to my parents who had the foresight for me to be multilingual, and I enjoy communicating with my Hispanic and Chinese patients. Being a pulmonologist, I just love being outdoors on my bike and breathing the fresh air at the beach. My most memorable moments in life are spending time with my family vacationing in different parts of the United States and Canada.
I love my practice because of the challenge that it brings every day. I take care of members with general lung problems, and also care for those in the critical care unit. We have one of the best ICU teams at Kaiser Permanente Anaheim Medical Center. Our staff works together to bring high quality service and compassionate care to critically ill members. It is a privilege to help members and their families understand what concerns them and the process and progress of their illness. I feel very honored that members have entrusted me with their care and strive to treat them as I would my own family.
To thrive, we must constantly improve ourselves to achieve a higher level. For example, I was actually overweight and had high cholesterol when I was in my 30s. When I turned 40, I realized that I had to change my eating habit and exercise more. I also bought a bike and started cycling three times a week. I have fallen off the bike a couple of times because the pedals required cleats. I have lost and maintained my 15-pound weight loss over the last 10 years, and I have also lowered my cholesterol. Now I can order that linguini with clams in white wine sauce (one of my favorite dishes) every once in a while and not feel bad about it.
