Acerca de mí
Hello, welcome, and thank you for visiting my Web page. I am delighted to share a little bit about myself. I am an orthopedic surgeon practicing at the Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Medical Center. While I hope you never have to come see me, I am excited about the opportunity to help members through musculoskeletal injuries. We have a great, personable team here at Baldwin Park, and I think you will agree!
I was born in Seoul, South Korea, but grew up in Southern California. I earned a BS in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley, graduating with high honors. I earned both my MD and MS in Bioengineering from UC San Diego, where I was selected as a Regents Scholar, a merit-based, formerly full-tuition scholarship. During medical school, I had the opportunity to travel to study orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City and at Northwestern University in Chicago. I completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Michigan, during which I scored in the top 1% nationally and had the highest score among my peers on the orthopedic in-training exam in 2011. I completed a fellowship in orthopedic traumatology at Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington in Seattle. I then spent a year in practice at a Level 1 trauma center in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area prior to joining the Southern California Permanente Medical Group.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I specialize in orthopedic trauma, which means I take care of fractures or broken bones. Our outstanding fracture care team, many of whom have gone through injuries themselves, will make you feel comfortable and at ease during your treatment and recovery. Having a broken bone can be a harrowing experience. While many injuries may be treated with a non-surgical approach, others may require surgery. We strive to educate our members about their injuries and treatment options and help them through the decision-making process to choose a treatment plan that best fits their goals, expectations, and lifestyles. We believe the most important part of caring for a member is caring for the member.
