Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page! My name is Dr. Jennifer Ellice, and I am a practicing partner physician and assistant chief of service in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Kaiser Permanente’s Downey Medical Center.
As the child of a diplomat, I grew up in nine different countries all over the world. I moved back to the U.S. to attend university. I completed my undergraduate education at Princeton University, where I majored in history. From there, I moved to New York City, where I worked for a time as a counselor in a methadone clinic. Working with some of the most disadvantaged people in the city gave me a great appreciation for the work of healing and caring, and it prompted a desire in me to become a physician. I left New York City to pursue post-baccalaureate premedical coursework at Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia. After a grueling 18 months of deep immersion in science and premed, I attended the University of Rochester School of Medicine, where I earned my medical degree, and then Brown University to complete a four-year residency in emergency medicine. After that, I moved to Southern California and joined Kaiser Permanente.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
Practicing emergency medicine is not a calling for everyone, but for me, it is deeply gratifying. My colleagues and I work days and nights, holidays and weekends, and are always ready and enthusiastic to do whatever is needed when it comes to helping our patients in an emergency. This means that we are often finding ourselves face to face with some of the most challenging aspects of practicing medicine in an ever-changing environment.

The Emergency Department affords me the privilege of learning to live in the moment. I thrive by focusing on the here and now, gardening, practicing yoga, and reading.
