Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself and tell you about my practice.
Losing my parents opened my eyes to the importance of end-of-life care and helped me learn that life is a precious gift and can be very fragile. We try to achieve the best for ourselves, but we can’t always control the outcome of every event in our lives. For people in hospice and palliative care, I focus on achieving quality of life for them, providing for their comfort, allowing them to maintain their dignity, and helping them continue to enjoy what is most important to them. I enjoy the simple things in life. I stop to smell roses and enjoy picking fruit from trees. I have two dogs and two rescued cats. Though I feel like a zookeeper at times, I enjoy their company dearly. When my son says, “I love you so much, Mommy,” it motivates me to be a good mom. I really try to do the best I can in everything.
As an internal medicine physician, I see patients in my office and in the hospital. Additionally, I provide home-based palliative care and hospice, where I focus on managing symptoms to achieve comfort for people at the end of life. I now also provide care at the skilled nursing facility. In the skilled nursing facility, I work with a caring team to provide support for our members who are going through a transition period in their lives. I want the people in my care to gain control and live their lives, rather than focus on the negative aspects of their condition.
My husband helps me stay focused on our common goals, and my son helps me appreciate life and keep my body and mind busy. My pets help me see how enjoyable life can be. I love to cook, and it makes me happy when others enjoy my food. My mother taught me that cooking has to be done with love. I try to apply that rule in all I do.
