Hi, and welcome to my Web page. My name is Dr. Greg Hartman, and I’m one of the podiatrists at our facility.
I have my undergraduate degree from UCLA and also a graduate degree from there. My podiatric degree is from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. I completed my surgical residency at Van Nuys Community Hospital in Van Nuys. In 1989, I was board certified with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and I recertified in 1999. I have had a wonderful, varied background in medicine since podiatric medical school. I was in private practice for four years, served as a physician in the United States Air Force for three and a half years, and I’ve now been with Kaiser Permanente Bakersfield for over 20 years.
I treat members from newborn infants to seniors. I see diabetics and special-consideration patients, such as those who have cerebral palsy or prostheses. My colleagues and I also see members who are unable to communicate in English or who are speech or hearing impaired. We provide a range of podiatric medicine treatments, including medications or injections, and we perform minor procedures, such as ingrown toenail removal or the treatment of scars. My expertise is in the surgical repair of deformities, and the treatment of traumatic injuries. I also enjoy the sports medicine aspect of my practice. Our podiatry team has had the philosophy for years that seeing one of us is like seeing the group, and we consult together on difficult cases.
I ride my bicycle to work two days a week. I also rehearse and perform in the community band of the California State University, Bakersfield, and the Bakersfield Winds band.
