Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I’m pleased to have the opportunity to provide you with some information about myself and my practice. I encourage you to explore the online resources available to you at kp.org, including being able to email my office.
I was born and raised in Fresno, California. I always loved biology and the sciences, and pursued optometry due to the many eye problems in my family. After graduating from the Southern California College of Optometry, I enjoyed the climate so much down here that I decided to stay in the Southern California area. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1996, after 10 years of working in private practice. I also like to combine my love for traveling and helping others by providing eye care on medical missions to the needy in third world countries and hope to continue to do so in the future.
Ever since my vision was improved by glasses in fourth grade, I've wanted to help others with their vision. I joined Kaiser Permanente because of the focus on prevention and team approach to health care. In my practice I concentrate on helping individuals who have congenital or acquired eye problems that result in low vision (severely decreased vision below what is considered normal). I use magnifiers and alternative treatments other than glasses to help patients maximize the use of their remaining vision.
In order to stay fit for all my travels, I keep active in the gym or in outdoor sports like hiking, swimming, biking, and paddle boarding.
