Acerca de mí
I'm happy to have this opportunity to introduce myself and help you get to know me better. Feeling comfortable with your physician is the most important foundation for a long-lasting and positive relationship that is built on trust, mutual respect, and teamwork. You are a big part of your own health care success. Good health is a right, but maintenance of good health is a responsibility! By choosing Kaiser Permanente, you have already started by making a great choice. Together, we will work hard to make sure you are healthy and that you stay that way, so you can enjoy all that life has to offer.
As a teenager growing up in Maryland, I worked during the summer as an assistant to my stepfather, a podiatrist. My family gave me lots of support and encouragement when I decided to go to medical school. Now my husband and our four children are very supportive of me as well. We share our home with two rescue Rhodesian ridgebacks (we were amateur dog breeders in the past), one mixed Chihuahua (rescued), one Staffordshire Terrier mix (rescued) one chinchilla, and one aquatic turtle.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
After my residency in obstetrics and gynecology at George Washington University, I did two years of subspecialty training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. This specialized training has enabled me to guide our infertility staff in delivering care based on individualized treatment plans. I had the privilege when I joined Kaiser Permanente to design and implement our infertility program, which is the same program we use today. We believe in educating members about their options. And once they've chosen the course that's right for them, we support them in reaching their goals. We feel very privileged to be able to help couples build their families. Children are our future, and we should spare no effort in giving them a good and healthy start in the arms of a wonderful, loving family.
Cómo vivo bien
As a doctor, a mom (former infertility patient), and a wife, I often find myself using all of my energy to take care of others. I am finally learning that unless I take good care of myself, I won't have the inner strength to help others. I enjoy walking for exercise early in the morning. It really gets my heart pumping! I do yoga once a week, and when the waves are right I like to practice surfing. I try to visit our family ranch regularly to recharge myself so that I have energy to continue to give to others.
