Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this opportunity to introduce my practice and myself to you.
I was born and trained in Sweden. I received my medical degree from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. I completed my residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University Hospital in Uppsala, Sweden, where I subsequently earned my doctorate in clinical hepatology. I have extensive clinical and research experience in the field of liver diseases as well as other gastrointestinal disorders, such as peptic ulcer disease and celiac disease. I came to the United States for postdoctoral research. I studied immunological factors in celiac disease at UC San Diego, where I also completed a residency in internal medicine prior to starting working at Kaiser Permanente.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I am a strong believer in healthy living and that it is never too late to change our lifestyle. Healthy living can improve the most common liver problems I see in my practice—including obesity and fatty liver disease, which both are risk factors for progression of other liver diseases, such as chronic Hepatitis C. I strive to always provide the best possible care according to the latest practice guidelines. I have received the Elizabeth Schilling Award for compassionate care and a physician distinction merit award for excellence in care from Kaiser Permanente. I’m also an investigator in numerous clinical trails at our Otay Mesa and San Marcos medical centers.
Cómo vivo bien
Spending time with my family is very important for me. I have a wonderful wife and four children: a daughter and three sons. I love jogging in the San Diego canyons during the summer and cross-country or downhill skiing in Mammoth during the winter.
